Most of the flowers blooming in Rebun are northern
plants which originally bloom Sakhalin, the Kamchatka and the Aleutian
Islands. Those plants, which generally grow in an alpine belt, are
considered to be carried glaciers and then have remained even after
the ice age.
Rebun is an attractive tourist resort since you can easily see the
flowers, which can only be seen on the Japan Alps and Daisetsu Zan
(the Daisetsu mountains), without climbing them.
Moreover, there are a lot of flowers which are native to Rebun Island
such as Rebunatsumoriso, Rebunkozakura, Rebunkinbaiso and Rebunusuyukiso.
